Feline Studies
I use gouache, egg tempera, distemper, ink, and graphite to explore the complexities of narration within the feline subject matter. Cats have been a historically complex domestic animal, with our fascination dating as far back to their worship in Ancient Egypt, to our Meme-flooded worship of them over the modern digital frontier. I aim to use historic materials to highlight the narratives that promote the complexities of feline existence from bathing rituals to domestication of hunter versus prey.
